Only two games in, but so far the offense is more of the same - Monahan is the only guy scoring.

They role Lindy with Johnny and Monahan again last night? Hope he gets that spot instead of Neal

What I posted is very Oilers-fan-like. Apologies. What actually concerns me more than any preseason performance (i.e. backup goaltending, pp) is that massive meltdown at the end of last year... throw all the excuses you want at it (i.e. Monahan minus a hand, weak bottom six) collapses like that take some "getting over". I hope to god our Flames team isn't permanently damaged.

Pretty sure that is why we have a new coach and there were some pretty major player movements made.

I am not worried yet.

But seem like the team never really found their identity under GG. Have to see what Peters can do.

Speaking of Peters, I could really go for Peters Drive Inn right about now.

I DO LIKE LINDHOLM ON THE FIRST LINE. HE HAS PLAYED WELL.

NEAL LOOKS SLOW AND MADE SOME DUMB PLAYS

I am not worried about Neal. Its preseason. Can start to worry in the regular season.

I'd rather they put Neal on the top line. Anyone they put up there is going to be successful, and even Chiasson couldn't slow Gaudreay and Monahan down. Lindholm is much better at generating offence and could really boost any of the other lines he's put on. Put Neal on the top line or even Ryan if they want to keep Monahan's faceoffs down.

If Lindholm has some scoring touch see what he can do with Chucky.

ugghh Chiasson. Him and Gully appear to be butt buddies as Alex followed him to Edmonton on a PTO.

Lindholm looks like he's fit right in with Johnny and Mony. Peters said he's going to play Neal o the top line in Vancouver, so we can see how he does then. If it looks like it's a fit, then putting Lindholm on the 2nd line might be a better idea, assuming we're okay with Monahan taking all the face-offs. That way we can have a bigger, more physical guy who can finish on both top lines and make space for their linemates to do their thing. But I do think having Lindholm on the top line to help Monahan take face-offs on his off-side is a big reason why he's starting there.

We have options for the Top 6 and could even move Tkachuk to the top line if we wanted to and have both Neal and Lindholm with Backlund. We have the luxury of taking our time and figuring out what actually works for the Top 6 this year.

As for the lack of scoring beyond the top line, no reason to be worried about that yet. The team's played two preseason games in China. Let's just relax and let the team build some chemistry before we start to panic.

Hmm 2 games hey? I guess the 7-4 shlackin at the hands of the Oil doesn't count because you don't want it to. Looks like a 0-2-1 record to me.

It doesn't count because there were one or two players on either team that even have a shot of playing a regular shift in the NHL this year. If you're going to count that, you need to count the prospect tournament too.

So I guess you wont be counting tonights game against the Nucks if you lose too hey? Convenient to make your record whatever you want it to be. We wont count the prospects game because "there were one or two players on either team that even have a shot of playing a regular shift in the NHL this year" Id say preseason rosters are a lot more NHL ready than rookie games.

Put Dube on the top line, Lindholm with Sam and Mark.

This throwing lines out is easy!

You seem really excited about beating the Stockton Heat. I guess I would be too. It means my team is at least AHL calibre. You guys must really be looking for something to cheer for to care so much about the preseaaon.

90% of the Flames starting roster is in China. You can't argue that. The guys here are PTOs/rookies/Stockton Heat. So no, I don't really count that half of the split squad.
